Launch of the Midlands Paediatric Radiotherapy Service

We are excited to invite you to our very first annual meeting as part of the Midlands Paediatric Radiotherapy Service at the Radiotherapy Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on Friday 1st September with the support from University Hospitals Birmingham Charity. We have invited previous patients and families to learn and be part of our new service that was established in April this year.

The Midlands Paediatric Radiotherapy Service is a partnership between the paediatric radiotherapy teams at University Hospital Birmingham and Nottingham University Hospital. Together we will be working to develop radiotherapy techniques for children and young people as well as improving the access to trials for patients across the region.

The event will take place at the Radiotherapy Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and we will be open from 13.00. There will be stalls to learn about the process of radiotherapy and some of the developments this year with the opportunity for children and adults to take part in activities. Our artist who designs and paints the radiotherapy masks will also be there! There will be several talks from 13.00 to 17.00 and there will also be a breakout room to watch a film for those children (and adults) who find us boring!

We look forward to seeing you all once again - The Paediatric Radiotherapy Team at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
