Major Trauma Service

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham has a specialist Major Trauma Service that receives some of the most serious trauma patients from across the Midlands.

The hospital charity supports the Major Trauma Service through the 4Trauma4Patients scheme, which provides patients and families with support from the minute they come through the doors of the hospital, whilst they are with us, and ongoing support once they leave the hospital.

How we help our major trauma patients

4 Trauma 4 Patients aims to provide all-round support to patients and their families. Whether it’s access to benefits and welfare advice to alleviate financial pressure, getting legal assistance, or emotional support for family and friends, they're here to help.

After a traumatic injury, people often have concerns about financial issues, such as paying bills if they are unable to work for a prolonged period. It’s important to make sure any welfare needs are taken care of, so they don’t have to worry and can concentrate on their recovery.

They can also access free, confidential legal advice from a specialist serious injury solicitor through the service.
