Good Hope Midwifery Led Unit

The Midwifery Led Unit at Good Hope Hospital allows midwives to support mothers and their partners throughout the pregnancy. The specialist unit, funded by Good Hope Hospital Charity, enables midwives to focus on the mother’s needs and wishes before, during and after the birth in a relaxing environment, which helps to reduce stress and anxiety.

The unit includes four spacious and beautifully decorated birthing suites with state-of-the-art equipment that encourages family-centred care and ensures everyone feels as involved and comfortable as possible.

Brian’s late wife, Joanne, was a lifelong resident of Sutton Coldfield and chose to support Good Hope Hospital with a transformational gift in her will. Brian said,

Joanne was very proud of being born and bred in Sutton Coldfield and wanted to support the local hospital. When I was told about the Midwifery Led Unit, I was very pleased that Joanne’s gift was going to something specific. It was very emotional to visit the unit when it opened, and I know that Joanne’s gift will support many more generations of local Sutton Coldfield residents.
