Alex uses artistic skills to support NHS Superheroes

Alex Nicholson is a self-employed artist and graphic designer, and has his own company ‘Nicholson Creations’. He has been putting his artistic skills to use in order to raise money for University Hospitals Birmingham Charity.

When the COVID-19 crisis began, Alex was keen to help in any way he could. He decided to use his talents to redesign the iconic ‘We Can Do It’ wartime poster, encouraging people to stay at home and protect the NHS. He designed the poster for people to display in their windows, helping to show support for the NHS and show the importance of staying home.

Selling the posters through his own personal website, Alex donated 100% of the profits to University Hospitals Birmingham Charity, where the money will be used to support our patients and staff by providing added extras. Speaking about his fundraising, and all those who donated, Alex said “I am very grateful to all those who purchased a poster, and grateful that the UHB Charity can provide such an amazing service”. Overall, Alex has raised an incredible £177.79!

University Hospital Birmingham Charity's Head of Fundraising, Justine Davy, said “We are so grateful to Alex for his fundraising – it’s such an imaginative way to raise money, and we love to see people using their talents to help others during such a difficult time”.
