Associated Architects raise £4,000 for QE Cancer Appeal
UHB Charity is incredibly grateful for all of our corporate supporters that continue to amaze us by coming up with exciting challenges to raise money to support our hard working staff as well as patients and their families across our four hospitals.
Associated Architects staff undertook a sponsored walking challenge this September that raised £2,700, as well as a client and consultant quiz raising a further £1,300 – bringing the total to an amazing £4,000.
The STEPtember challenge saw the team aiming to collectively take 10 million steps across the month. The team went beyond their original target, managing 12,737,476 steps - almost the equivalent of Birmingham to Beijing! This was significantly boosted at the annual Away Day with a collective 963,140 steps taken that day on a visit to London.
Director Warren Jukes said: “Every two minutes, someone in the UK is diagnosed with cancer; an alarming statistic. With this in mind, we - along with the help of our clients and collaborators - are delighted to support the University Hospitals Birmingham Charity Cancer Appeal. The appeal is making an enormous difference to the thousands of patients in Birmingham who have received this terrible news - including loved ones of the Associated Architects team. Thank you to everyone that supported us."
A huge thank you to the team at Associated Architects for all of their fundraising this year, because of this incredibly kind donation UHB Charity is able to continue supporting patients going through the difficult journey of cancer treatment, enhancing patient experience so that patients can be as comfortable as possible during their stay in hospital and supporting families during uncertain and worrying times.
