Christmas is all wrapped up at Mell Square
Solihull Hospital Charity is partnering with Mell Square Shopping Centre to ease the pressures of Christmas shopping by hosting a free Christmas gift wrapping service on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 December between 10am and 3pm.
Taking place in a retail unit on Mill Lane North (in between Reiker Shoes and Fired Earth), shoppers will be encouraged to give a charitable donation at the Christmas pop-up store, which will be complete with festive nibbles and music. All donations received from the gift wrapping activity will help to bring Christmas to Solihull Hospital. The Charity is raising money to provide hampers for staff and patients to share on Christmas Day and toys for children receiving treatment.
Rob Hemus, asset director at IM Properties, owners of Mell Square, said: “As Christmas is a time to spend with loved ones, we are looking forward to working alongside Solihull Hospital Charity in a bid to bring Christmas to the patients at our local hospital. We had fantastic feedback from last year’s Christmas gift wrapping pop-up store, so we hope to see our shoppers show their generosity once more.”
Samantha Howell, fundraising manager at Solihull Hospital Charity, said: “The Charity is very excited to join forces with Mell Square for the second year. The support we receive from our charity partners is crucial in allowing us to continue the work we do, especially during the festive season when Solihull Hospital will be busier than ever. On behalf of all the staff and patients at Solihull Hospital, I would like to say a massive thank you to Mell Square and I look forward to the activity.”
