Members' small change adds up to make a big difference at Children's ward

The Solihull Hospital Charity has received a £1,000 donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation to enable it to buy new toys, games and IT equipment for patients.

Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation is funded through the Small Change Big Difference® scheme where members donate the pennies from the interest on their accounts just once a year to help smaller charities around the UK.

Samantha Howell, Fundraising Manager at Solihull Hospital Charity, gratefully received the donation from Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, and said: "The Charity's heartfelt thanks go to all of the members of the Yorkshire Building Society who have helped to make this amazing donation possible.

"The money that has been donated will help the Charity to purchase new toys and equipment for the Children’s Ward at Solihull Hospital which will make the atmosphere and experience even better for the children that we treat."

Solihull Hospital Charity was recommended for the donation by colleagues at the Society’s branch, on the town’s High Street.

Kiran Prajapat, manager of the Yorkshire Building Society in Solihull, said: “At Yorkshire Building Society we believe passionately in supporting those charities which really make a difference in our community, like Solihull Hospital Charity.

“Our Charitable Foundation is funded by our members and I know they would be as proud as I am to be able to support such a worthwhile cause.”
