Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council awards grant to support NHS Superheroes

Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council has awarded a generous grant of £5,000 in support of Good Hope Hospital Charity’s NHS Superheroes appeal. The appeal is funding vital supplies for staff and patients at Good Hope Hospital during these difficult times.

The grant will help to fund radios for patients across the hospital, so that they can listen to the station of their choice whilst on their ward. The current situation means that patients across the hospital cannot receive visitors, which can in turn leave them feeling isolated and lonely.

The radios will help to keep them occupied during their time in hospital, and also help to encourage conversation with hospital staff and other patients.

The generous grant from the Town Council will also help to fund specialist chairs that will allow staff members to relax whilst on their break, or between their shifts.

Laura Power, Fundraising Manager at Good Hope Hospital Charity, said: “On behalf of all of the staff and patients at Good Hope Hospital I would like to thank the Sutton Coldfield Town Council for making this generous donation.

“The Council’s support will help us to do more for our NHS Superheroes, and the patients that they are treating, at this challenging time.”

Councillor Simon Ward, Leader of Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council, said:
“In the face of extraordinary challenges, NHS staff at Good Hope Hospital and across the country have been unstintingly working to make sure that patients are looked after and we are immensely grateful for that. Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Council is pleased to provide a grant to support Good Hope Hospital Charity during the current emergency.”
