Birmingham District Nurses Charitable Trust donate a fantastic £2,500
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity has recently been awarded a fantastic grant of £2,500 from the Birmingham District Nurses Charitable Trust.
This funding will be used to support the pizza nights and breakfast clubs on the Teenage Cancer Trust Young Person’s Unit. QEHB Charity will now be able to provide TCT YPU with pizza nights and breakfast clubs. Activities such as these are not only a yummy treat for our patients and their families, but they are also a way to encourage young cancer patients to socialise.
The pizza nights are a great way for patients to invite their friends or family over to the hospital for a bite to eat in the communal kitchen and chat over pizza and watch TV, patients are encouraged to invite their family such as younger siblings and friends up to the ward for some normality.
Cathryn Worth, Fundraising Manager for QEHB Charity said: “Huge thanks goes to the Trustees of the Birmingham District Nursing Charitable Trust for their support with their grant of £2,500 that will go towards TCT YPU’s breakfast clubs and pizza nights. Social activities such as this can make a huge difference to our young patients staying on the ward.”
