Delicious Christmas delivery arrives at QEHB
A delicious Christmas delivery was made to the wards of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham this week!
QEHB Charity gave Christmas hampers to the ward staff and patients to share on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. The hampers, filled with Cadbury chocolates were handed out by Charity staff to wards and departments all over the hospital, to help bring some festive joy to those who can’t be with their families this Christmas. The Charity also gave some fruit baskets to the renal wards where patients aren’t able to eat chocolate, purchased from QEHB’s own Dave’s Fruit and Veg stall.
Cathryn Worth, Fundraising Manager at QEHB said: “It is a joy to deliver the hampers to the wards for Christmas day. Whilst most people are at home and enjoying their Christmas dinner and mulled wine, it’s business as usual at the hospital. We encourage staff and patients to share the hampers because it can be a chance to spark conversation and distract patients from having to be in hospital away from their families at Christmas. As well as hampers, the Charity has had choirs in the atrium throughout December and Christmas trees on every floor of the hospital.”
Your donations to QEHB Charity’s Christmas campaign have made this possible, and your continued support of the Charity allowed it to continue to provide ‘added extras’ to staff and patients at QEHB.”
