Easter goodies for poorly children at Good Hope

This Easter, children who are being treated at Good Hope Hospital received a very special treat thanks to companies around the Sutton Coldfield area who donated lots of Easter eggs to share around!

Adecco, Hotline Cars and Erdington Job Centre donated over 300 Easter eggs between them to be shared amongst the children at the hospital!

The Easter eggs were distributed throughout the children's departments at the hospital to those who are being treated here or have an appointment over the Easter period.

Chris Morrell, Play Specialist at Good Hope Hospital, said: "The children were so happy to see all of the Easter eggs come through the doors. The hospital can be such a daunting place for children so something even as little as an Easter egg being given to them can brighten their day and make them feel a little bit more at ease whilst in hospital.

"Thank you so much to the companies who donated the eggs to the Charity and to the children who were in hospital over the Easter period."

To make time in hospital a little bit easier and more comfortable for children, the hospital charity launched the Children's appeal across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull hospitals which aims to completely refurbish the children's areas.

This work has already begun at Good Hope and the Children's Outpatients Department is already looking more colourful, child-friendly and brighter. The department is now home to a new play area and sensory equipment to help children with life-limiting conditions such as cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy, as well as severe learning difficulties.

You can help us continue this refurbishment and make the hospital a nicer place for children by donating now at goodhopechildren.org.
