Enterprise Holdings Foundation donates fantastic sum to support critical care department

The critical care department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham has received an amazing donation of £800 from the Enterprise Holdings Foundation; the philanthropic arm of Enterprise Holdings, which, through its regional subsidiaries, operates the Enterprise Rent-A-Car, National Car Rental and Alamo Rent A Car brands.

Richard Luckett, Vehicle Repair Supervisor for Enterprise Holdings in the West Midlands came along to Fisher House alongside Kay Parbat, Strategic Transportation Consultant, to present the cheque to representatives from the hospital charity and Dave Watson, patient advocate at Fisher House.

The team from Enterprise were inspired to support the critical care department at QEHB following the sad death of Richard’s friend following a hit and run incident earlier in 2018. Richard said: “Sadly, our friend passed away a week later due to his injuries, but the care and dedication of the team at QEHB allowed the family to spend some quality time with him.

“The family had nothing but good words for the ICU team and were so grateful that they were able to have this time.”
The Enterprise Holdings Foundation sets money aside to donate to causes that are close to their employees’ hearts, and the critical care department at the hospital will now benefit thanks to this kind donation.

Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising at QEHB Charity said: “Huge thanks goes to Richard, Kay and the team from Enterprise Holdings for the kind donation. Their donation will help the hospital charity to provide ‘added extras’ for the amazing staff in the critical care department, helping them to provide the best care possible for their patients.”

This is not the first time that Enterprise Holdings has made a donation to the hospital charity, having previously supported Fisher House, the home away from home for military patients and their families at QEHB. Richard Luckett said: “Here at Enterprise we really pride ourselves in giving back. The remarkable work of QEHB touches the lives of both our employees and our local community. We are honoured to be supporting such an incredible life changing organisation.

"We are an American family-owned business and are keen to support our armed forces. Fisher House is in-line with our company heritage, one of the founding values of Enterprise is that “we strengthen our communities, one neighbourhood at a time.”"

Fisher House patient advocate, Dave Watson, received the cheque from the Enterprise team and said: “It has been fantastic to work alongside Enterprise Holdings for many years now. Their support has helped Fisher House to continue providing free accommodation for military patients and their families, right here at QEHB. Fisher House receives no government funding, so it is only thanks to generous donors such as the Enterprise Holdings Foundation that we are able to provide this incredible service.”
