Future Faces supports Birmingham patients

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity is this year to benefit from the fund-raising activities of Future Faces, the Chamber movement developing the next generation of business talent.

Th Charity exists to support patients at the city’s QE Hospital, including military patients and children, teenagers and adults with cancer. It provides items over and above what the NHS can fund, such as equipment, research and “added extras” that make a patient’s stay in hospital more comfortable for them and their family.

During the coming months, members of Future Faces will organise a series of activities in aid of the charity. Key fundraising events will include the annual dinner and awards on 16 September and the President’s Quiz in November.

Adam Maguire, a solicitor with law firm Higgs & Sons, who is this year’s president of Future Faces, said he hoped that members would fully support efforts to boost the Charity’s funds.

Justine Davy, QEHBC Head of Fundraising, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to Future Faces for choosing to support the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity. This support will not only help us to continue to raise much needed funds to benefit patients, but will also help to raise awareness of the Charity. We’re really looking forward to working with Future Faces and on behalf of the QEHB Charity I would like to thank them once again for their support.”

Last year, Future Faces worked in partnership with Edward’s Trust, raising £2,800 for the Birmingham-based bereavement charity.

*A delegation from Future Faces is heading to Brussels this week to take a close look at the inner workings of the European Parliament.

The delegation will include a number of Future Faces members, the organisation’s manager, Kate Evans, and Chamber chief executive Paul Faulkner.

The itinerary for the two-day visit will include meeting local MEPs Daniel Dalton and Anthea McIntyre at the European Parliament, visiting the Maltese Embassy (who currently hold the European Presidency) and participating in a plenary session of the EU’s Committee of the Regions, which deals with matters affecting regional authorities throughout Europe.
