Grandmother Sue runs to raise funds for Neonatal Unit!
A big thank you to Sue Allen who ran the 10km Knowle Fun Run on 20th May and raised £1700 for the Neonatal Unit at Heartlands Hospital whose staff looked after her granddaughter Evelyn Rose when she was born prematurely at 28 weeks and five days weighing just 1lb 12oz.
Sue had been training for the run since January with Solihull running club, This Girl Runs.
Sue visited the hospital this week along with her husband, daughter in law Samantha and granddaughter Evelyn Rose (who is now 22 months old and full of beans!) to present the donation of £1700 to the ward and to say thank you to the unit for the support and treatment they gave to Evelyn and their family.
Sian Averill, Fundraising Manager for Heartlands Hospital Charity said: “We are extremely grateful to Sue for her donation to the Heartlands Hospital Neonatal Unit and congratulate Sue on completing the run!"
