Libby Mae’s Little Angels funds incubator at Heartlands
Libby Mae’s Little Angels was set up by the parents of Libby Mae who sadly passed away in 2013. The charity wanted to help Heartlands Hospital Charity fund an incubator as part of the Incubator appeal to help more babies who are born prematurely.
Charlotte and Richard Sharratt, Libby Mae’s parents, launched the charity in 2013 following the loss of their baby who was born at the Women’s Hospital, and to date have raised over £300,000 supporting neonatal units across the Midlands.
After hearing about the Incubator appeal, Libby Mae’s Little Angels were eager to help fund one of the incubators needed on the Neonatal Unit at Heartlands Hospital. They put on an incredible ball hosted by Will Mellor, actor in Broadchurch, and radio DJ Sparky!
The team have raised an incredible £21,429 which funds one of the incubators needed on the unit at Heartlands Hospital! To present the cheque to the ward, Will Mellor came along to see the incubators and learn more about what they are doing for the tiny babies on the unit.

Sian Averill, Fundraising Manager at Heartlands Hospital Charity, said: “Libby Mae’s Little Angels put on an incredible ball hosted by Will Mellor and have raised such an amazing amount of money. We got in touch with them about the incubators earlier in the year and they loved the family aspect of them.
“When Libby Mae was in an incubator, Charlotte and Richard could only open portholes for a short amount of time but these new incubators hold heat in and have so many new aspects to make them more family friendly and comfortable for the baby.
“Thank you so much to the team at Libby Mae’s Little Angles, the staff on the Neonatal Unit are extremely grateful for your donation and the incubators will help treat even more tiny lives.”
Guests at the ball were given an amazing night to remember and were treated to entertainment from a UB40 tribute band, Johnny 2 Bad, and a DJ set from Mikey B!
