Meadway Sports & Social Club continue generous giving

Each year, the amazing people at the Meadway Sports & Social Club raise money to support children being treated at Heartlands Hospital. This wonderful group of friends host an annual dominos tournament and a lottery to raise funds for the ward.

This year, the team have raised a fantastic £510, taking their overall fundraising total to over £1,500!

The Club has a proud history of fundraising for Heartlands Hospital, as their friend and former member Sean Kelleher was a keen fundraiser for the children’s ward. The Club holds the dominos tournament in memory of Sean.

The money that the team have raised will be helping to fund the children’s garden at Heartlands Hospital, which will form a fun space for children to play in, taking time away from being on the ward.

This garden forms part of the wider refurbishments of the children’s department at Heartlands Hospital, which will only be possible with the support of fundraisers such as the team from Meadway Sports & Social Club.

Ian Lomas, a member of the Club came along to present the cheque to staff on the children’s ward. Sian Averill, Fundraising Manager at Heartlands Hospital Charity, said: “Thank you to everyone at the Meadway Sports & Social Club for your continued support of the children’s ward here at Heartlands Hospital.

“We’re hoping to create a fantastic new space in the children’s garden here at the hospital, and the money that the Club has raised will help us towards that goal.”
