QEHB Research & Development team to run for Brum
A team formed of staff from the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham’s Research & Development department will take on the Morrisons Great Birmingham Run this October to raise money for patients at QEHB.
The Great Birmingham Run is an annual half marathon- or 13.1 mile- foot race that sees thousands of participants hit the pavements every year. The 2016 event will take place on Sunday 16 October in Birmingham City Centre. A group made up of staff from the Research & Development team at QEHB are joining the fray for the second year in a row as they work to raise money for QEHB Charity.
This year, QEHB Charity is giving its runners the option to join one of three sub-teams; Team Doctor, Team Nurse, and Team Patient. The Research & Development group, which includes Philip Watson-Jones, Aaron Laming, Sarah Rogers, Zohur Miah, Jushil Kudhail, Mike Smith, Tom Rollinson, James Turner, Hamzah Manjra, Steve Smith, and Joy Johnson, will be representing Team Doctor along with friends and family members.
Philip Watson-Jones, Genomics Project Manager, said: “We’re all looking forward to the challenge and we’ve set a personal goal to beat our times from last year. We’re running in Team Doctor for QEHB Charity because the charity funds so many important projects around the hospital, including groundbreaking research.
“Please sponsor us if you can and help us raise money to support patients and staff at Birmingham’s biggest hospital.”
