Sutton Sound Clash raises money for The Giles’ Trust

The sell-out Sutton Sound Clash event took place in February to help raise money for The Giles’ Trust, the brain tumour research fund at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.

The event, taking place in the Sutton Coldfield Town Hall, was a huge Northern Soul vs SKA event where hundreds of people attended to help raise money for such a worthy cause.

Rob Briggs, who organised the event with the Julie Rennison, the M.D. of the Town Hall, said the event was a “great night” and they are looking forward to the next Sound Clash evening! The event raised an incredible £1,543.50!

Ellie Pocock, Fundraising Assistant for QEHB Charity, said: “Rob did an amazing job putting the event on and I was so amazing to see everyone enjoying themselves whilst raising money for The Giles’ Trust.

“The money raised will make a huge difference and will go towards providing added extras that go ‘over and above’ what the NHS can fund for brain tumour patients at the hospital.”

The Giles’ Trust brain tumour fund was set up by England cricketer Ashley Giles and his wife Stine to raise money to fund vital research into brain tumours at QEHB.

The pair set up the fund following Stine’s successful treatment to remove three brain tumours on two separate occasions at the hospital.

Thanks to your incredibly kind donations, we have already been able to employ two research nurses dedicated to brain tumours, Donna and Chris have so far been able to open up new trials for patients to join and help us find out even more about brain tumours.
