Tracy takes to the skies for Fisher House
Tracy Jolliffe works as a civilian member of staff within the military, and has been based near the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for the past six years. During this time, she has known many families who have spent time at Fisher House, the home away from home for military patients and their families at QEHB.
Earlier this year, Tracy decided that she wanted to raise money to support Fisher House, and bought her place to take part in a skydive. Tracy took to the skies over Salisbury in September, for her first skydiving experience.
Speaking of the day, Tracy said: “It was fantastic fun! It was such an amazing experience falling towards earth at that speed, it felt like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.”
Tracy’s efforts raised a fantastic £600.50 for Fisher House. Cathryn Worth, Fundraising Manager at QEHB Charity, said: “Our thanks go to Tracy for raising such a fantastic amount of money through her skydive. The money that she has raised will help to provide 24 nights of free accommodation for a family at Fisher House, meaning that a family will be able to stay close to their loved ones at the hospital.”
“Since opening in 2013, Fisher House has provided free accommodation for nearly 5,000 military personnel and family members. Fisher House is funded entirely through generous donations, and without the support of fundraisers like Tracy!”
