Volunteer goes ‘over and above’ for Heartlands Hospital!
Heartlands Hospital volunteer, Sue Chippendale held a raffle stall in the main entrance of the hospital. Sue sold the raffle tickets from Monday 25-30 March between the hours of 10:30-4:30!
She decided to set herself the impressive target of raising £500, and was delighted when she discovered that she had indeed raised a fantastic £600 in total! Sue also provided all eight of the prizes including two 32 inch TVs, two Amazon tablets, two DAB radios and two Easter Egg hampers!
Sue said: “A massive thank you to my friends and colleagues around the hospital who supported me on my marathon raffle with all proceeds going to the Medical Day Unit, an outpatient’s department for the care of older people.”
Sue has been volunteering for 5 years now and despite giving so much of her time to the hospital, she wanted to go that extra mile!
Mary Maxwell is the ward manager of the Unit, she said: “The work that Sue has done is greatly appreciated, I am very thankful for Sue’s support. With her donation we will be able to provide added extras for our patients that ordinarily the NHS wouldn’t have been able to provide!”
