Supporting Patients Wellbeing
The University Hospitals Birmingham Charity is dedicated to enhancing the lives of patients, families, and staff across all our hospitals: Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital, and Solihull Hospital.
We create a more welcoming environment through initiatives like waiting room refurbishments and the unique "Pets in Hospital" program, featuring specially trained dogs offering emotional support. During the holidays, we bring festive cheer with Christmas treats, toys for children, and festive decorations. With your help, we can continue making a positive impact – learn how you can get involved today!
Refurbish Waiting Rooms Throughout The QEHB
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham (QEHB) Charity is spearheading the initiative to refurbish the hospital's 23 waiting rooms. They aim to create more inviting spaces for patients' families and visitors.
Pets In Hospital
Pets in Hospital is a scheme that is being offered to patients and staff at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Heartlands Hospital and Solihull Hospital and is completely funded by the Charity.
We have specially assessed dogs and their owners volunteer their time to visit patients and staff at the hospital, helping to reduce their anxiety and enhance patient communication and interaction.
Patients And Staff At Christmas
We support patients, families and staff throughout the year at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Heartlands Hospital, Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital, but we are particularly conscious of the need to give that extra support and comfort at Christmas.
In order to help provide Christmas treats for patients and staff to share on Christmas Day, to purchase a toy for poorly children undergoing treatment and to provide the decorations that cheer up our hospitals over the festive period, we try and provide a number of ways you can help us help them.
