Another successful Aegon Classic Tournament for QEHB Charity!
Hundreds of people of all ages joined Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity (QEHB) at a scorching Aegon Classic today to see a selection of the world’s top female tennis players show their stuff on the courts of Edgbaston Priory Club.
The Charity, with support from the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), were able to sell heavily discounted charity tickets to the very popular event, and raise funds for patients, staff and departments at Birmingham’s busiest hospital in the process.
Staff and volunteers from the hospital charity worked hard in the baking sun giving out goody bags and free t-shirts to many of the excited tennis fans. This year, the charity were also able to give away one of their giant teddy bears in a ‘guess the birthday, win the bear’ contest!
Justine Davy, Head of Fundraising said: “This is the third year the LTA have generously supported the charity and I am happy to say that this event continues to be a roaring success enjoyed by all. We are especially grateful to the LTA for donating one of their retail units allowing us to show off our fantastic new QEHB merchandise!”
