Members of the staff body at Great Barr Secondary School spent the final weeks of 2015 as fantastic fundraising elves.
In the weeks leading up to the end of term, collection tins for the QEHB Charity were placed throughout the school, into which students and visitors made generation donations.
The generous staff decided to use their annual Christmas party as a time for philanthropic good-will, organising a raffle, party games and samosa sale. All profits from ticket sales were also donated. Collection tins for QEHB Charity were also placed throughout the school in the run-up to the end of term.
The raffle was incredibly successful, with prizes such as a luxury hamper and massage treatments proving to be popular with weary staff members after such a busy term.
Ingrid Abrahams, Head Teacher at Great Barr School, said: “We are delighted to be able to donate £417.95 to the VIP Treatment Appeal at Queen Elizabeth Hospital as a result of our popular Christmas staff party, and look forward to future fundraising events.”
Sian Averill, Fundraising Officer at QEHB Charity, said: “We are incredibly grateful to the hard work and selfless fundraising of the staff at Great Barr Secondary School. An amazing amount of money has been raised for QEHB Charity’s VIP Treatment Appeal. On behalf of QEHB Charity, I want to thank Great Barr Secondary School for their brilliant fundraising efforts.”
