Family donate to cardiology in memory of lovely mother
The Timmins family visited the Cardiology Department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham in September to make a generous donation to the ward in memory of Sadie Timmins who was cared for on the ward before she passed away earlier this year.
Sadie’s husband, daughter and granddaughter visited the ward and donated a huge £1,260 which will go towards ‘added extras’ for patients who are being treated on the ward.
Professor Leyva accepted the cheque on behalf of the Cardiology Department and was also the Professor that cared for Sadie.
Sadie’s husband said: “Professor Leyva and his team were always so lovely to Sadie and I, and they gave her the best care possible. It has been strange to return back to the hospital but I am glad we were able to do it and be able to donate the money to the Charity. It is lovely to think that through it we are able to help other patients.”
Cathryn Worth, Fundraising Manager for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham Charity, said: “Thank you so much to the Timmins family who donated this huge amount of money to the Cardiology Department.
“The money raised will go towards ‘added extras’ for the patients on the ward which go over and above what the NHS fund.”
