LOL31 Loyal Victory Kidderminster kindly donate to Fisher House
University Hospitals Birmingham Charity is thrilled to have received a generous donation of £400 from a local Lodge of the Loyal Orange Institution. Loyal Victory Kidderminster, part of West Midlands District 60, donated the funds to support Fisher House, the military home away from home at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.
The members of the lodge were busy fundraising for Fisher House and many other worthy charities across Birmingham during lockdown, by selling wristbands, and raised an incredible £2,500.
Mike Hammond, University Hospitals Birmingham Charity CEO, said : "We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from LOL31 Loyal Victory Kidderminster. Their kind gift will enable us to continue to support military patients and their families in their time of need. Thank you so much to everyone involved in this brilliant fundraising and to all who donated.”
Matthew Nellins, a member of the lodge (pictured), said: ”We chose to support Fisher House for the wonderful work they do looking after our military and their families, many of our brethren are ex military and we are big supporters of everyone in the British military.”
Since opening in 2013, Fisher House has provided on average of 4,500 nights of free accommodation to military patients and families every year. For £25 you can fund a night’s stay for one of our families.
